United Methodist Homes is currently hiring a part-time RN: Treatment Nurse. 


What will I do in this role?

  • Confer with the Unit Manager and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders of residents in the facility.
  • Consult with the Care Planning Team concerning assessment evaluations and assist in planning and developing the skin care treatment to be performed for the resident.
  • Initiate requests for consultation or referral. Respond to requests from the resident, physician, or nursing staff.
  • Examine the resident and his/her records and charts, and discriminate between normal and abnormal findings, in order to recognize when to refer the resident to a physician for evaluation, supervision or directions.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
  • Implement and maintain established policies and procedures relative to skin care treatments. Interpret these to the physician, resident family members and public as appropriate.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the attending physician, Medical Director or DON concerning the status and care of the residents.
  • Carry out facility policies and procedures.
  • Identify learning needs of residents/families and family caregivers and help to develop and implement a teaching plan.
  • Document information in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident's response to the care.
  • Assesses all wounds
  • Stages wounds as required
  • Maintains all wound tracking
  • Completes MDS as required
  • Understand and follow all HIPAA Guidelines.
  • Understand and follow Infection Control Practices.

What do I need for this role?

  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of NY
  • Working knowledge of pharmacology
